The Brown-headed Nuthatch (Sitta pusilla) is one of the species that I wanted to spend more time with and I got my chance in April, 2023. These birds are range-restricted to the piney woods of the south and they're spectacular little gems of the forest. They're often found with Bachmann's Sparrows and Red-cockaded Woodpeckers, as they require the same habitats.
